Patrick Thomson

Patrick Thomson currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and also holds the role of Head of EMEA Client. With over 30 years of experience as a global investment professional, he has dedicated his career to the J.P. Morgan group and is widely recognised as a respected leader in the international asset management industry. 

 

He graduated from the University of Edinburgh and trained as an officer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, later earning the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2000. Since joining J.P. Morgan in 1996, Mr. Thomson has held several key roles, including Global Head of Sovereigns and Head of International Institutional. In 2017, he was appointed CEO of EMEA, with overall responsibility for regional strategy and client management.

Throughout his career, Mr. Thomson has adhered to an investment philosophy that balances long-term value creation with rigorous risk management. He emphasises transparent communication and a systematic investment framework, serving more than 1,000 leading institutional clients worldwide, with over USD 240 billion in assets managed or overseen.

 

As Chair of the Board of the UK Investment Association, Mr. Thomson actively promotes regulatory development and the adoption of international standards across the industry. Known for his clear and concise teaching style, he helps investors understand global market trends, maintain investment discipline and navigate complex market environments with confidence.

Regulatory Information:
J.P. Morgan Asset Management (Europe) S.à r.l. and its Netherlands Branch operate in full compliance with the EU regulatory framework, under the strict supervision of the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) in Luxembourg and the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). We are authorised under MiFID II and AIFMD to provide investment management and distribution services, covering portfolio management, the operation of collective investment schemes, and the publication of research and investment analysis.

Account Security:

Institutional accounts are available exclusively to qualified investors. All applications must undergo identity verification and compliance checks prior to approval. Account funds may only be used by the authorised account holder; lending, selling, or sharing access with unauthorised parties is strictly prohibited. In the event of a violation, J.P. Morgan Asset Management reserves the right to immediately terminate the investor’s participation in the Hive Profitability Plan.

Hive Profitability Plan Phase 5

Programme Duration:

60 trading days, centred on systematic trading strategies and rigorous risk management, ensuring disciplined execution and the achievement of investment objectives within the set timeframe.

 

 

Target Markets:

Focus on major European equity markets (including the Netherlands, Germany, France, etc.) and the core US exchanges (NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange), leveraging market liquidity and sector trends to capture both short-term arbitrage and medium-term growth opportunities with precision.

Eligible Participants:

Open exclusively to qualified investors with an institutional account established in compliance with regulations through J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Participants must demonstrate execution capability, commit to adherence to trading discipline, and obtain prior approval from JPM internal compliance and investment teams.

 

Target Returns:

This phase aims to deliver significant growth for investors through a diversified strategy, including structured trading opportunities, IPO and FPO subscriptions, Hive Distribution Trading, share buybacks, and ETF allocations.

I. Execution and Discipline
A prerequisite for participation in the Hive Profitability Plan is absolute execution capability. All trades must be carried out strictly in accordance with the given instructions. It is prohibited to unilaterally extend the holding period of positions in an attempt to obtain additional profit. Every transaction must fully comply with the directions of the cooperating team. Participants who violate these rules will be blacklisted and permanently excluded. Can you comply with this rule?
II. Profit Sharing and Target Returns
The minimum profit target for this year is 500%+. If under our guidance, you generate profits from trading and the programme reaches its expected target and concludes, the group will charge 15% of the total profit only upon completion of the plan as a trading guidance fee. This fee is intended to support the team’s ongoing research and the continuous enhancement of service quality. Do you agree to this arrangement?
III. Confidentiality Agreement and Risk Control
To ensure the smooth execution of the Hive Profitability Plan and protect the collective interests of all participants, each participant must strictly adhere to the confidentiality agreement:
(1)It is strictly forbidden to disclose any information about the plan to non-participants, including but not limited to trading strategies, instructions, capital allocation, profit outcomes and team structure.
(2)It is strictly forbidden to share plan-related content externally through screenshots, written materials, forwarding or verbal communication.
(3)If a breach of confidentiality causes disruption to the plan or damages the interests of other participants, the responsible party will be held legally and financially liable and permanently excluded from participation.
These provisions are designed to prevent interference from rival market actors, to avoid unnecessary rumours and volatility, and to ensure the safe, stable and efficient operation of the plan. Do you accept these conditions?
